About the Role

The role focuses on maintaining and monitoring data center infrastructure, supporting daily operations, and ensuring high uptime across hardware, networking, and systems. The specialist will work onsite as part of the operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain servers, networking, storage, power, and cooling systems.
  • Perform hardware installations, upgrades, patching, cabling, and decommissioning.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, network, and software issues to maintain uptime.
  • Assist with migrations, new service deployments, and redundancy planning.
  • Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental standards.
  • Keep documentation current, including rack layouts, cabling maps, configurations, and inventories.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Experience in data center operations and infrastructure management (2+ years preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, networking, and operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with server hardware and common OS environments.
  • Expertise in cabling and cable management, including installation, labeling, and structured standards.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals – LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in supporting data center systems and hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of virtualization platforms.
  • Scripting and automation experience.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and DCIM tools.
  • Understanding of data center power, cooling, environmental systems, and cabling standards.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Server+, or VMware VCP.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
  • Experience with ticketing and workflow systems (ServiceNow, Jira, Slack).
