Role Description
Mercor is seeking experienced parks and recreation workers to support a leading AI lab in advancing research and infrastructure for next-generation machine learning systems. This engagement focuses on diagnosing and solving real issues in public recreation programming through hands-on scenario creation and validation. It’s an opportunity to contribute your expertise to cutting-edge AI research while working independently and remotely on your own schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Write tasks and scenarios that reflect real-world parks and recreation work based on your professional experience
- Create realistic situations involving program planning, facility management, community event coordination, and public engagement
- Develop scenarios for handling diverse populations, safety protocols, conflict resolution, budget constraints, accessibility accommodations, and inter-departmental coordination
- Review and evaluate AI responses to parks and recreation queries for accuracy and professional standards
- Provide detailed feedback on parks and recreation scenarios to improve AI training
Qualifications
- 4+ years professional experience as a recreation worker in government, municipal parks and recreation, or public recreation programs
- Demonstrated professional recognition and management responsibilities
- Proficient with using computers and navigating various software systems
- Excellent written communication with strong grammar and spelling skills
- Pass video interview, background check, training, and qualification quiz
- 14 years experience preferred
Requirements
- Fully remote and asynchronous — complete work on your own schedule
- Expected workload: 20+ hours per week, with flexibility to scale up to 40 hours
- Project start date: immediately, lasting for around 6 weeks
Compensation & Contract Terms
- Independent contractor engagement through Mercor
- Hourly compensation, paid weekly via Stripe Connect
- Payments based on services rendered; contractors maintain full control over their work schedule and methods
